Terms & Conditions

Most businesses have terms and conditions. By paying for your second session with me, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:


1. Advance Payments

After the very first session, payments for future sessions must always be made in advance. Payment is monthly (or, upon written agreement, fortnightly – for weekly clients only)  via bank transfer no later than 24 hours before the first session of the calendar month is scheduled to take place. When doing a bank transfer, please use your name (or your child, if they are the client) as the reference. Please note, if I do not receive the payment upfront, your regular slot may be given to another student. Refunds are not given on advanced payments.


2. Cancelled Sessions

If you have to miss a session for any reason and if you provide at least 24 hours in advance by text message or email, I will endeavour to reschedule your session to a time that I have available that week or the following week. This could be either in person or online, depending on my current availability. If you do not provide 24 hours’ notice, payment for that session is lost. In the case of clients that are under 18, it is also important to inform me of cancelations for safeguarding reasons, as if your child does not turn up, I will be concerned for their safety and wellbeing.

If you are able to tell me about absences for that month before the calendar month begins, I will deduct those sessions from your monthly fee. For example, if you have booked a holiday and tell me before the payment for that calendar month is taken then you do not pay for the sessions that would normally run during your holiday.

Unreliable clients who cancel sessions regularly must be aware that their regular slot may be given to a new client, as I have a waiting list of clients who would benefit from these slots and my aim is to help as many people as I can.

For tutoring only: If you no longer require tutoring, please let me know in writing by the 15th of the month in order to cancel your slot for the following month –  i.e. email me by the 15th January if you do not require tutoring in February – otherwise payments will still be due for the following month.


3. Online Sessions

Please download Skype / Zoom (and add me as a a contact before the lesson on Skype) before the session if using these platforms for online sessions. If you are unsure how to use these platforms, please look at the tech support on the platform’s website to familiarise yourself with the platform and do a test run with a friend before your first session with me.

Please be logged into Skype, Zoom or the online classroom ready to start each session at the booked time, otherwise this may result in a shorter session.
