Editing Service

In 2009 I copyedited Alexsandro Meireles’ academic book ‘Self-organizing rhythms in Brazilian Portuguese: Speech rate as a system perturbation’. I have also edited a recent collection called ‘Domestic Imaginaries: Navigating the Home in Global Literary and Visual Cultures‘, which can be ordered from Amazon.

I am happy to copyedit academic books, dissertations, essays, fiction and non-fiction, online content, reports or articles. My service checks grammar, spelling and punctuation, phrasing, and ensures your argument is easy to follow. My scissors are sharp: I also help you cut down your word count if you need to! In terms of methods, I use the ‘track changes’ function in MS Word to suggest alternative phrasing, grammar issues and ask questions that will help you to think about whether you need to explain things in detail or cut out material.

Prices for Copyediting:
  • Up to 1,000 words – £9.50
  • Up to 2,000 words  – £18.50
  • Up to 4,000 words  – £35.00
  • Up to 6,000 words  – £50.00
  • Up to 8,000 words  – £65.00
  • Up to 10,000 words  – £80.00

If you need copyediting for longer projects, contact me for quotes via email: hello@bexharper.com

Other Services

I am a multipotentialite (someone with many varied interests and skills) and I pool my skills to get the most out of projects. I greatly believe in life-long learning, which means I am always studying something. Currently, I am studying digital marketing and Danish. If you would like further information or for a quote for the following services, please email me at hello@bexharper.com to get in touch.

I completed a PhD in 2014 at the University of Nottingham and have worked as a researcher at Maynooth University in Ireland. I have extensive research experience. I have authored and co-authored academic publications. I am based near the British Library and so I am happy to do academic work for you, or if you need internet research doing, I can also do that.

In 2015, I gained a PhD and have also worked as an editor and teacher, so I have a very good idea of how to write accurate reports and research and write interesting articles. I have been running the Domestic Imaginaries blog since 2013 and I started the network in 2011. I write my own articles for my own blog on personal development, life-hacks, health and life-long learning. I have also written 1,000-2,000 articles for other people’s blogs, as well as book and product reviews.

I have Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE. I have a bank of lesson plans that I have created myself. One of my strongest areas in teaching is planning. I have been lecturing, teaching or tutoring for over 7 years so I have been planning lessons a very long time! I have been selling my lesson plans online for a while.

In terms of courses, I also have designed and delivered courses across the East Midlands and South East. So I can help you to get your course off the ground!

I have a BA in German and Portuguese and regularly teach translation in my role as a teacher. I have lived in Brazil, Germany and Austria and can draw on this cultural knowledge.

Since the start of the Domestic Imaginaries network project, I have co-organised an international academic conference, co-edited a book, co-wrote a book chapter and continue to write a blog. I have also organised other events or projects. I have co-organised an international conference in Ireland, set up and ran my own company’s website, managed project accounts and done basic bookkeeping.

I would be happy to work as a project or event manager in the London and Essex areas or online as a VA to help your project/event get off the ground! I have skills in WordPress, Blogger, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and various other platforms. I also know basic html and have a great eye for images and detail.
