QUALIFICATIONS AND AWARDS:

I have gained:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE.
  • an interdisciplinary Ph.D from the University of Nottingham.
  • an MA (by Research) German and a BA (hons) German and Portuguese.
  • a Certificate in Personal Coaching (from The Coaching Academy)
  • an International Coach Federation-certified Certificate in Group Coaching (from Animas School of Coaching)

 

I have been awarded:

  • a Higher Education teaching award in 2012 and have excellent references & student feedback.
  • an Associate Member Status of the HEA for Higher Education teaching.
  • a successful DBS check and I am on the Update Service which renews yearly.

 

EXPERIENCE:

I tutor adults and children aged 4+ and I have:

  • over 10 years’ experience of tutoring and teaching children and also adults in Higher & Further Education in the UK, Ireland, Austria & Brazil
  • got excellent GCSE results with my Year 11 class in 2017: 100% A*-C
  • been awarded ‘outstanding’ during a recent observation of my WEA teaching.
  • trained to be a transformational success coach. I host group coaching workshops and have coached and mentored numerous people to achieve their goals.
  • worked as a freelance writer/editor and I have published my research and an edited academic book (with Palgrave, 2017)
  • dyslexia and have learned lots of coping strategies to deal with this condition!
  • designed my own teaching materials and courses.
  • lived in 5 different countries.
  • a love for learning and teaching, singing, playing and recording music, hiking, yoga and dancing. I also have a huge aquarium with fish, shrimps and water snails!
